More than a thousand people attend, and the breadth of content includes science, business, the arts and the global issues facing our world. Over four days, 50 speakers each take an 18-minute slot, and there are many shorter presentations, including music, performance and comedy.

Aneesh Chopra Fireside Chat

MeetingAneesh Chopra was appointed by President Obama as the nation's first United States Chief Technology Officer, and was instructed by him on his first day in office to develop recommendations for a more open and transparent government. Acting upon these instructions, Mr. Chopra designed the National Wireless Initiative and executed an "open innovation" strategy across the agencies built on private sector collaboration and the “impatient convening” role of government - opening data to transform health, energy and education markets, convening tech leaders to develop consensus standards, and sponsoring prizes, challenges and competitions to tap into entrepreneurial problem solvers.

Annual MeetingMr. Chopra previously served as Virginia's Secretary of Technology and has returned as a Senior Advisor with The Advisory Board Company, a global research, consulting, and technology firm helping hospital executives to better serve patients, where he previously served as Managing Director. In 2011, Mr. Chopra was named to Modern Healthcare's list of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare (#39) and in 2008, to Government Technology magazine's Top 25 in their Doers, Dreamers, and Drivers issue. Mr. Chopra earned his master's degree in public policy from Harvard University in 1997 and his bachelor's degree from The Johns Hopkins University in 1994.

The evening will begin at 5:30 pm with a private reception for TiE Charter Members only, followed by dinner at 6:00 pm. Mr. Chopra’s presentation will begin promptly at 7:00 pm.
